Family Mediation Support
Mediation for a fair resolution

How it works

1. Contact Belinda by email or phone and she will arrange a time to call you to find out more about your situation and requirements.

2. Assessment meeting: you can come together or separately to the assessment meeting where you will be given more information about mediation and if it is suited to your situation. You will be given an agreement to mediate form to read through and sign if you wish to continue. All costs will be laid out at that point to provide an estimate.

3. The actual sessions can be run on a solo or co-mediation model. With co-mediation, Belinda will recommend inviting another Family Mediator with a different background to her own to join the sessions. Belinda will recommend co-mediation when another's expertise would increase the success of the mediation.

4. The first session will focus on the issues to be discussed and prioritising them. The issues might cover child contact, financial matters, communication and property. A detailed and full financial disclosure is required for all financial matters.

5. Depending on the issues to discuss, you will meet with Belinda for 3 - 5 sessions. Each session lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes.

6. At the end of the mediation, Belinda can prepare for you a Mediation Summary and/or a Financial Summary. These are not legally binding documents but you can take them to your solicitor as a basis for a consent order.
